Handball Camp of HSG Herborn-Seelbach on 27 and 28 April 2024
Last weekend, the long-awaited HSG Herborn-Seelbach handball camp took place and it was a great success! Over 140 children from the region took part in this two-day event, which was filled with exciting activities and first-class handball.
The camp offered the young handball players the opportunity to improve their skills in various areas. From strength and coordination exercises to physical fitness challenges and learning new handball techniques - the children went through a variety of stations supervised by experienced trainers. The topic of nutrition was also not neglected, as detailed nutritional advice rounded off the program and sensitized the participants to the importance of a balanced diet in sport.
A special highlight of the camp was the joint training with a real handball star: Hendrik Wagner, Bundesliga player for HSG Wetzlar, was on hand to support the children on Sunday and inspired them with valuable first-hand tips and tricks. The beaming faces of the children during training with Hendrik Wagner spoke volumes - it was an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
But training was not the only thing on the agenda. On Saturday, all participants supported the men's team of HSG Herborn-Seelbach in their last game of the season against the team from Lollar. With loud cheers and enthusiastic applause, the children spurred the team on to a convincing victory - a great team effort that once again underlined the cohesion and solidarity within the club.
The handball camp also saw the departure of long-standing coaches who had made a significant contribution to the development of the club. Their commitment and dedication were acknowledged with great thanks and recognition.
Another highlight was the honoring of the female youth C team for their outstanding performance in the 2023/2024 season. The team was honored for their hard work and dedication with the championship title, and the players beamed with pride at their well-deserved award.
Overall, the HSG Herborn-Seelbach handball camp was a complete success and an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
We would like to thank all participants, coaches, helpers and supporters who helped make this event an unforgettable experience. We are already looking forward to the next handball camp and more exciting shared experiences on and off the field!
On Saturday, March 25th, the female youth D team of HSG Herborn/Seelbach won the championship title of the District Upper League A.
After the departure of many key players at the end of last season, the two coaches Sarina Würz and Uwe Woyczyk of HSG Herborn / Seelbach have formed a masterful team in the next higher youth class C. The club's voluntary youth work and acquisition in primary schools is particularly noteworthy. The result is a full-strength female youth D team that has made enormous progress this season and has been able to compensate for losses with the support of the female youth E players.
After an exciting season with some hard-fought and close results, the team in second place, two points behind, still had two games left to catch up with the previous league leader JSG Lahntal, who had already played all of their competitive games.
Both games were won with ease, with the last game against VFB Driedorf being a clear 18:2 victory. In addition to an impressive attacking game with successful moves and the two highest-scoring players Carlotta Würz (9) and Jule Krusy (5), the team shone with a solid, top-class defensive performance, with the performance of Karlotta Dietrich in defense and Savannah Lombardo in goal particularly standing out.
After the final whistle, the championship was duly celebrated in an away arena, followed by a long, convivial karaoke evening with all the families.
The next season in the female youth C division is eagerly awaited, as a large part of the team will move to this division depending on their age. The HSG Herborn/Seelbach will play in the qualifying matches for the district upper league.
